INFRASTRUCTURE
College Campus: Our College is partially a residential one with a total campus area of 37,635.82sq.m. Apart from the college main building and other academic blocks, housing different departments, the college campus accommodates three students’ hostels, a spacious auditorium “Biram Bhavan”, a museum, a playground, students’ health home, office of the Students’ Union and staff quarters. There are two canteens within the college premises for teachers, students and non-teaching staffs. The college has hygienic toilet blocks, gymnasium, cycle stands, students’ common rooms (separate for boys and girls), gardens (flowers & medicinal plants), CCTV Surveillance facility, computerized library and office with internet facility.
Library: The library is located in the ground floor with separated reading room for students and teachers. The Library is well ventilated, lighted and aired to facilitate comfortable seating. The Library is fully computerized allowing functions like issue, return, OPAC search, and availability assessment of books, easy and user friendly. We have bar-coded our document collections. Our college library contains a rich collection of more than 30000 books, 23 journal/Magazine, 3 Daily Newspapers, 2 Employment oriented Newspapers. Our library subscribe 2 digital database one from N-LIST (UGC-INFONET Digital Library Consortium, INFLIBNET Centre) and NDL (National Digital Library IIT Kharagpur). Library books are well stacked in accordance with Dewey Decimal Classification System. Library Membership is offered to the current students and staff of the college.
Hostels: We have three hostels (One for boys, one for girls and a Swabalambi Chhatrabas, a boys’ hostel, for poor and meritorious students) with a total seat capacity of 175. Superintendents look after these hostels. Healthcare services are also provided through Students’ Health Home.
Laboratories: All practical based departments have well-equipped laboratories for the Honours and General practical classes. These laboratories are kept up to date, on a regular basis, according to changing syllabi. A separate laboratory for the P.G. Department (M.Sc.in Botany) is maintained. The college has also a ‘Central Instrumentation Facility’ with a number of modern and scientific instruments. A new computer laboratory for the Mathematics Department has been established.
Computer, Internet facilities & other modern teaching aids: At present there are 156 computers and laptops are distributed in the office, library and academic departments. Students, teachers and office staff use the internet. Modern audio-visual teaching aids like LCD - projector, overhead projector, computerized epidiascope, etc. are also used in teaching. All academic departments, the office, library and the students’ union office are well connected through intercom telephone services. NCC: The College has a functional NCC unit, the 53 Bengal Battalion. The NCC training is conducted on Tuesday.
NSS: Ramananda College currently has two NSS units: Unit I and Unit-II. Regular NSS activities are organized on Sunday and NSS classes are conducted in the middle of the week within class hours. “One Day State Level Seminar on Environmental Awareness” has been organized by NSS, Ramananda College in 20th December, 2018. Special NSS camps are organized in the adopted villages yearly. This year seven days special NSS camp (University level) was held in Pansiuli & Mansa Village, Bishnupur, in 14th to 20th March 2019. An awareness camp on thalassemia was organized by NSS units on 14th March, 2019; and a medical camp for detection of thalassemia among the college students was organized by NSS units and Student Welfare Committee of the College on 20th March, 2019. Other programmes on different social issues are held throughout the year.
Biodiversity Management Committee: A Biodiversity Management Committee under West Bengal Biodiversity board has been established from the academic session 2018-2019, in this college under the supervision of Dr. Ajit Kumar Datta, Associate Professor in Botany, Ramananda College. As an initiative to make the environment of the college eco-friendly, the college observes NO FUEL DAY on 12th and 25th of each month.
Radha Gobinda Memorial Students’ Health Home: The College has a students’ health centre adjacent to the football ground. It is a branch of Students’ Health Home, Kolkata and the main centre of this Sub-Division.
Other facilities: The College has Special Study Centres/Distance Education of IGNOU and NSOU which offer professional & job-oriented programmes along with conventional courses. Rain water harvesting project has been started with the financial help from Environment Science Departments, Govt. of West Bengal to meet the need for water to be used by the students of Swabalambi hostel. There are four electrical generator sets in the campus if emergencies arise. Selected students are provided with sports goods for participation in Inter-University and State Level competitions. The college has a well-equipped gymnasium-hall and ‘Annasatra’ for meager students. Very recent five PG courses in science and Humanities introduced in our college is running smoothly.

2. Improvement of Research facilities and environments among the teachers and student to some extent.
3. Installation of Biometric attendance for college teachers and non-teaching staffs.
