Ramananda College was established in the 1 st day of July 1945. The process of starting the course B.Sc (General) in Computer Science was initiated by Dr. Aniruddha Mukherjee , former HOD , Department of Physics, in the year 1985 and the course Started from the year 1988 with the approval of the Burdwan University. At that time the course was conducted under the department of Physics. Computer Science was taught in this college as a combination subject of 300 marks in B.Sc. general course. Some of our students after passing this course have done further studies and have become well established. From the year 2000 to 2013 the course discontinued due to some technical problems. Course was reopened from 2014 under the Department of Computer Science. After few years the Governing body of the college realised the interest of the student s for studying Honours Courses. As a consequence, B.Sc. Honours in Computer Science was started in the year 2018 under the Bankura University.
The department has two sanctioned permanent post in faculty positions but at present one post is vacant. So, two guest teachers have been appointed.
