The Department of History of Ramananda College started her journey from the year 1945 to partake learning on I.A. level. B.A. pass course was introduced in the year 1947. Later on, in 1962 the Honours course was introduced. The initial seat capacity was 20 in Honours category and 200 in Pass category. At present the department has the intake capacity of 52 students in honours and 600 students in pass course.
At present, the department has four sanctioned full time posts along with two approved part-time teachers.
