CAMPUS CODE OF CONDUCT FOR STUDENTS'
Ramananda College, Bishnupur, Bankura
- Students are expected to maintain the highest standards of discipline and dignified manner of behavior inside as well as outside the College campus. They shall abide by the rules and regulations of the College and should act in a way that highlights the discipline and esteem of the College.
- All the students are expected to be present in the class well within time. Students shall rise from their seats when the teacher enters the class room and remain standing till the teacher takes her/his seat or they are allowed by the teacher to sit. Silence shall be observed during class hours. No student shall enter or leave the class room when the session is on without the permission of the teacher concerned.
- Teachers shall be greeted appropriately with "Good Morning Sir/Madam" or "Good Afternoon Sir/Madam" and a "Thank you Sir/Madam" when the teacher leaves the class room.
- All students shall leave the classes immediately after the classes are over. No students shall wander or gather in verandah, corridor, and staircase etc. Theyshould not spend much time in canteen, coffee shops etc.
- All the students are expected to attend college functions, seminars and conferencesand be present for the entire session.
- All the students shall wear their identity cards, well displayed. Identity badge is a public documentand any teaching staff and non-teaching staff shall have the right to peruse it. Denial of that aloneinvites disciplinary action.
- All kinds of tattooing, body piercing, hair styling etc. that goes against the existing social norms will be referred to the disciplinecommittee.Any dresscode violation noticed within the campus could initiatefurther disciplinary actions.
- Students are expected to maintain silence in the academic buildings to maintain the decorum and, anydeviant behavior such as hooting, whistling, loitering etc. will be treated as an instance of indiscipline.
- For independent study, students are expected to use the class rooms, library or the demarcated areas ofthe academic building and shall not resort to sitting in staircases or circulation areas where they couldinterfere with the free movement.
- Students are encouraged to make use of the library, common computing facilities and to involve inprofessional body activities or any program authorized by the college beyond class hours. Howeverunder normal circumstances students shall retreat to their hostels or residences by 6.00PM.
- Students are expected to keep the campus neat and clean. They should not put any waste anywhere in the campus except in the waste baskets.
- Consumption of intoxicants / psychotropic substances in any form or smoking or using chewinggum, panmasala etc. are strictly prohibited inside the campus.
- It is strongly advised to refrain from activities such as scribbling or noting on walls, door orfurniture which could deface the college and destroy the academic ambiance.
- Carefully handle the furniture, equipment, fixtures and appliances of the college and laboratory.Careless handling/misuse of the above could result personal injuries or damage to property. Follow safety precautions near moving machines and electrical installations. In the event ofdamage of property, the responsible students will have to bear the cost of replacement/repairwith fine.
- Students are not permitted to arrange any unauthorized celebrations and decorations of anymagnitude in the campus.
- Students are not permitted to distribute or display (both physically and electronically) materialsuch as notices, banners etc. in the campus without the permission of the competentauthority.
- Students are expected to make use of academic, co-curricular and extracurricular facilitiesavailable to the optimum levels. This will certainly make them physically fit, academicallycompetent, mentally alert and socially sensitive.
- Students who intend to represent the college in intercollegiate events shall take prior permissionfrom the concerned head of the department and the selection will be based on parameters such asacademic performance, attendance, character and competence of thestudent in the proposed event for participation.
- Unauthorized meetings,propaganda work, processions or fund collections are forbidden within the College, hostels, andoutside the college.
- Harassing juniors, ill treatment to other fellow students or any such form of ragging isobjectionable and liable to be treated as criminal offence by the law enforcing agencies as per thedirectives of Hon'ble Supreme Court of India.
- Misbehavior towards girl students, use of threat or violence against members of the staff or fellowstudents will be considered as very serious cases of misconduct.
- Any violation of the above rules will invite penalty in the form of warning, fine, bringing ofparents or any course of corrective measure as found suitable by any staff member or higherauthority of the College.
Mobile Phone Policy:
The purpose of this policy is to establish clear cut guidelines regarding the usage of mobile phones insidethe campus. This policy is applicable to the students who enter inside the college campus.Realizing the importance of communication and the possible impact of mobile phone usage inside thecampus, the following guidelines are arrived at:
- Students are not permitted for using mobile phones without enough cause, within the campus.However, use of phones for academic purposes is allowed if prior permission from a teacher has been taken. The mobile phones must be kept in silent mode during the class hours.
- Accessing Social Networking Sites such as Facebook, Whatsapp, Twitter etc. is prohibited within the college campus, however access to these sites are permitted in hostel building during time slots specified by the hostel wardens.
CODE OF CONDUCT FOR TEACHING AND NON-TEACHING

All employees should comply with the directives of all competent authorities, like Governing Body, State Govt., Higher Education Council, UGC, MHRD, Bankura University and RUSA. They should be committed to the Vision and Mission of the institution.
- Integrity: Behaviour of everybody must be consistent with the positive moral and ethical principles and standards, based on core values of the institution.
- Respect for others: All must show respect for the dignity and for the physical and psychic integrity of beneficiaries and stakeholders involved in the institution, recognise the general rights of stakeholders to preserve their privacy, and to be protected from physical and verbal violence.
- Trust: All stakeholders should have a firm belief in the reliability of each other to be honest, truthful and act with integrity.
- Accountability: All stakeholders of the college are held responsible for executing their powers and responsibilities properly.
- Fairness: All stakeholders of the institution must treat others with impartiality, free from discrimination or dishonesty.
- Equity, Justice and Social Justice: All stakeholders must adhere to the educational and social values of sustainability, equality and justice and recognise the rights and responsibilities of future as well as current generations, put into practice fair, transparent, inclusive and sustainable policies and practices in relation to age, disability, gender, race, ethnicity, religion and belief and sexual orientation.
- Personal and Systems Improvement: All stakeholders should recognise the importance of making the maximum contribution possible to the continuous improvement of the institution.
- One should protect the property of the college and must not misuse the resources of the institution, or personal or commercial information held by it, for personal gain.
- All should have the endeavour to make the environment clean and eco-friendly.
- Harassment and discrimination of any form by any member of the college are strictly prohibited irrespective of sex, religion, caste and creed.
- Non-compliance to the above model code of conduct is subject to disciplinary and punishable measures to be taken by the college authority in accordance with the institutional, statutory and legal provisions.
